Italian Master of Mosaics Artist and Instructor, Marzia Truant, will be teaching two five-day workshops, one in Minneapolis hosted by Shelley Beaumont and the other in Nashville hosted by Suzanne MacNeil. Sign up here for the class in the NE Minneapolis Arts District at the Mosaic Candy Shop. Marzia will teach Introduction to The Theory of Color Applied to Contemporary Mosaics. Both Shelley and Suzanne attended Marzia’s workshop in Savannah recently and came away with a greater understanding and appreciation of creating colors with smalti. Students will choose which of the two designs (in the header) you want to make. Shelley isn’t sure which one she prefers and Suzanne will work on the color blocks. Dates: October 14-18 in Minneapolis – Mosaic Candy Shop, Thorpe Building October 21-25 in Nashville 9:00 am - 4:00 pm daily Cost: $1,250 (includes supplies, teaching fees, and studio space) Early Bird Discount: $125 discount if signed up by August 31, 2024 (Discount will be refunded after payment) We will be using the gorgeous Donà Spilimbergo Venetian smalti. Students will be using a direct method, using mosaic wheeled nippers.Students will create a 9” x 9” framed piece. (all materials included!) Class Size: Maximum 14 Students Students must provide their own tools (wheeled nipper, spatula, apron, etc.).
